Assignment #9 - Max Carlson - War

War is bad. In an ideal world, war isn't necessary. People could coexist in peace and there would be no need for violence. In a more realistic sense though violence is sometimes necessary as a last resort. There are people on the Earth who live to oppress others and spread discord. And, while it should only be used as a last resort, sometimes war is necessary to stop these heinous people. When powerful people have powerful backings, and use these powers to put down others, others must use their power to fight them. Think of World War 2. Hitler and the Nazi regime overstepped boundaries and committed genocide so the countries of the world needed to come together to stop them however possible. This is one example of an example where war wasn't good, but the better of two evils. I believe countries have an obligation to go to war when innocent people are suffering with no more hope.
