I personally don't think there should ever be a time for war. Countless lives are lost to violence that could be solved by much simpler means. I do, however, understand that in some instances, a war isn't preventable. Protecting their people should be a leader's primary concern and when there is a threat, you cannot simply stand by and let you people be attacked. In this situation, I do believe that war would be inevitable. The alternative solution is simply a compromise or the willingness to lose some to gain some. Having a civil conversation takes two to come up with a solution, however, and thus this alternative does not always seem to work. The point is to try anything before violence. War should be treated as a preventable, last minute plan of action in the case that something goes wrong or a compromise is unable to be reached. The main goal should be to save lives from either side of the problem.
