Assignment #9 - Buddy Goodwin - Avoiding war at all costs

Morally, I think that there is never a time for war. I think that humans killing humans should be avoided at all costs. I think that killing is one of the worst things a person can do. Every day millions of people work to try and save lives while some of those same people do so by killing others and I think this wrong and unjustifiable morally.

However the way most people see it today is they see war as the most effective way to impose their will on others. While I think that war, under no circumstances, is morally right or justifiable and should always be last resort and avoided at all costs, I do think war is one of the most effective ways to impose ones will on another. I agree there are many alternatives to war that I think are better overall but in terms of effectiveness I think war is up towards the top of the list. I also think that there are times when countries have a responsibility to go to war but only in the most extreme cases because I think war is so morally wrong.
