Assignment #15- Ellis Padgett- Someone Go See Frozen 2 Again With Me

In ninth grade I visited New York for the first (and only) time with my family. It was rainy, smelly, and miserable. So we decided to go to see a Broadway show. Two hours before the show started, we somehow swung seats in the center to see a musical I knew little about: Wicked.
Basically, I started crying like two seconds in. It wasn't a sad moment- no one died, or was left homeless or with nothing. I cried because that first section of the score was just immensely powerful. From that point, I knew the show was going to be great. 
I mean I wasn't bawling my eyes out or anything. But the music did strike a chord in me (haha) on a level I hadn't previously known. I love music. It has the capacity to reach within every single person and interact with them in a different way. Wicked made me cry that day. And for those of you that think that's stupid, it reach my dad emotionally, too. He actually sat through a musical and said it was "good" after, for the first time in his life. That's how you know it was good.
A lot of musical scores have touched me. The theme from the show Lost is the saddest thing I have ever heard. I grew up on the music from Les Miserables. Recently, I saw Frozen 2. To put into perspective how much I loved it, I have just returned from getting my nails painted like Elsa's dress. The story was amazing- and the music was, too.
Seeing these films and plays with such amazing music always leaves me feeling like a new person. That's the best way I can describe it. My love for music has introduced me to a love of music in film, and led me to appreciate all of the studios that create them. 
I write my own stories and have been attempting to create music that goes along with them. It's really frustrating, so if anyone knows a composing application other than Noteflight that would be great. I also have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. But every time Disney or Pixar releases a new movie, it gives me a little push to carry on.
