Assignment #13 Why hasn't anyone though of this?!- Benjamin Webster
I know our school is facing problems, both structurally and behavioral. I've always though about the best way to solve this but to no avail. Then in Mr. Cain's AP US History, inspiration struck. We watched a video that discussed Reconstruction. It discusses convict leasing and how convicts in the south would be used to aid business and reconstructing the infrastructure of the south after the Civil War. Why can't we do this at Henry Clay? It would be overseen by our police and would involve troubled kids. Why have kids who don't want to sit in class or one's rotting away in SAFE come out and make themselves useful. They could repair the school and aid our hard-working janitors. Afterwards they could improve the campus making it the prettiest in the world. They should build their own houses on campus and sleep in their own luxurious self designed houses. On top of that, they can start digging a basement in the school for more space for students. If they fancied, they could build on top of the school and make it taller. They would build a recording studio for the music kids, a movie theater for the film kids, and a pool for the swim team. This should be implemented at every school so the United States will soar in education in the world. It all starts at Henry Clay High School. We would be immortalized in educational history.
