Assignment #9- Caroline Blitch- Fight Fire with Fire

It is naive and childish to believe world peace is possible such as the conservative Christian group known as the Mennonites. Especially when there are 7.6 billion people on this planet. Humans are inherently selfish and tend to abuse the power they are given resulting in conflict. Whether war is necessary is not a question, but rather, at what point is it necessary. It is in political leaders’ hands to determine which battles they want to choose and where they draw the line. In many cases I think it is fine to “fight fire with fire” or violence with violence if it is the only way to end a growing number of deaths. In the end whatever will result in the least number of innocent lives taken is the best solution. Obviously, it is best to try and resolve issues in a civilized manner without violence but after asking nicely once, all is fair.
