assignment #7 - cole knight - this time 2021, i wanna be a quaker

Before I start, I just want to say that I have absolutely learned my lesson about doing all of these blog posts in one afternoon. I want to be able to have some fun with these, but I’m honestly just trying to get them all done at this point. Sorry to any and all who have read my bland, barely-reaching-the-word-count diatribes about Lubbock, Texas. I promise to do better next time. I could probably whip up some halfhearted “my dream school would expect better of me” transition from the preceding sentiment, but I don’t want it to lose its sincerity, so please pardon the following choppiness. I want to go to the University of Pennsylvania. I know it’s an Ivy and I’m an idiot, but I have solid grades, high tests scores, and a legitimate chance (by my own clearly biased estimation) of competing for a national title in debate this year. I think the campus of UPenn would be a great place for me to live because it marries the activity of a big city in Philadelphia with the quaint beauty of 17th-century architecture in a gorgeous, green setting. I also think that its reliance on traditional grading systems, rather than some form of the countercultural anti-grades policies being exercised at other elite institutions, would maximize my chances of success, while minimizing my chances of excessive tomfoolery, by incentivizing studying. So, yeah, I would love to go to Penn.
