Assignment #10 Benjamin Webster- My Family Complicates the Foolproof Plan

I as a teenage boy, think about being thrust in a life or death situation, at least twice a day. Sometimes this involves a zombie apocalypse that takes place. I will assume I start at my house with my family. I will also assume I get at least 24 hours of prep time for the virus to spread to Kentucky due to social media being used to spread awareness. I would probably split my family up in two groups. My dad and I would drive in one car and grab my brother from Centre College. Meanwhile my mom and my little brothers would pack our minivan with everything of value in our house. Then once my mom and dad come back with my brothers, we would drive to my grandparents in outer Richmond to live there. My other close family lives with each other but my Richmond grandparents don’t have any close family living near them except my family. We probably couldn’t make it to any stores to loot because of the mass panic and already cutting it to the wire on the 24 hour amnesty.

Together we would live there because there is less people which means that there is less possible infected. From there I would loot houses after a few days and start farming, waiting to  live out until the infection ends. The only flaw in my plan is my family would slow me down. My grandparents are old, my mom and dad are gonna want to protect my little brothers who are still fairly young. My older brother and I would have to carry team so to speak. Even him though doesn’t have the survival skills that I have. So out of my entire family, I would be the most useful out of the bunch do to my outdoor and survival experience. Protecting would probably lead to my untimely death. Anyway after a year or so, I would try to radio into Lexington and see if any of my friends survived. But I doubt everyone I would want to survive wouldn’t. Overall, I would rate my chances of survival 80%+. My entire families survival would be give or take 20%. For their sake I hope this day never comes.
