Assignment 6: Hannah Qazi - I was going to title this but I can't make up my mind
The human brain is an apparatus of knowledge, so complex that it's essentially a mini-universe. It's crazy to think that in this exact moment your own brain is activating a multitude of areas: your cerebrum, frontal lobe, and even your temporal lobe, to read these exact words. With each new discovery of the human brain, we learn more about ourselves. Through neuroscience, we can understand and explain our thoughts, behavior, and actions. It can provide reason for not only the complex and unpredictable behavior of a teenager or the curious and mischievous toddler but also entire societies. With this increase in knowledge comes an increase in empathy and as a result, change is created. Recent developments in medicine have even discovered treatments for previously fatal mental ailments, but in order to successfully achieve this, the brain itself would need to be altered, leaving some alarming side effects. As strange as it sounds, neuroscience and ethics have an undeniable connection with one another
