School projects have always been a point of disgust for me due to the amount of time and effort put into something that is often bland. When I’m engaged in something that genuinely interests me while challenging my mind, it become something I enjoy pumping time and effort into. For example, These past few months, I’ve undertook a non-school related activity that has become a point of pride. I always wanted to do an ancestry DNA test but shied away due to companies keeping your DNA locked away. Instead, I work on my own family tree and try to discover my ancestors. With help from relatives and the internet, I have learned some interesting things. I learned that there is a strong German heritage in my history. Cursing myself for not picking German to study at Henry Clay, I found out that I might be related to a French king directly. So I think I’m happy with my language choice.
