Assignment #1 - Taylor Galavotti - What's cracking?

Hi! My name is Taylor Galavotti and no, my last name isn't a type of pasta, though I wish with all my heart that it was.

As far as things that define me apart from school, there isn't much, to be completely honest. I'm a member of Model UN and Academic Team at Henry Clay. I also read a LOT. As of right now, I'm reading The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (a fantasy series which I last read in 7th grade), Little Women (before the movie with Emma Watson and Timothee Chalamet comes out), and a book called Proof of Heaven by a neurosurgeon who had a near-death experience in which he saw "heaven" and then came back to life. If you couldn't tell, my tastes vary when it comes to books. Oddly enough, I also enjoy writing, specifically screenplays. One of my friends and I are writing a screenplay right now based on the Clue board game (Yes, we know there's already a movie out there, but we spiced our's up with new characters and deeper and more convoluted backstories).

As far as goals go, I'm hoping to just survive this year. If my class schedule wasn't stressful enough, I'm also involved in organizations (i.e Leadership Lexington, Andover Greenspace Committee) outside of school that take up large chunks of time. The absolute dream would be to keep my 4.0 GPA and pass all of my AP tests, but I don't think it's going to happen, at least not without the help of some serious caffeination. My drink of choice is either an iced coffee, or black tea with two sugars and a splash of milk.

My summer was hectic to say the least. I went from taking the SAT on June 1st to summer gym for two weeks to a leadership summit at Berea College to VAMPY, a three-week long summer camp for gifted students. Out of all of that, the most meaningful moment was when I finally finished it all and was able to sleep until noon with no consequences. I had done it.
