Assignment #1- Sneha Amrit - Hey there!

My name is Sneha Amrit I’m a junior at Henry Clay and I figure skate, have an older sister, and like to rewatch Parks and Rec on Netflix. My favorite character is Ron Swanson and I think he should run for president. Some goals I have for myself this year is to pass my intermediate moves in the field test and juvenile freeskate test in figure skating by the end of the school year. As well as passing all my AP tests. The most meaningful moment of my summer vacation was going to a leadership summit in Florida, I was able to meet girls from all over the United States and become friends with people that I otherwise would never have met. If I could have any superpower it would be knowing every single language because then I would be able to talk to anyone in the world and I would always be able to know what people were saying. It would also make traveling a lot more fun since I’d be able to talk easily with the locals.
Attached is a picture of a very cute Pomeranian I met over the summer, as well as a link to my favorite website coolmathgames because I am a beast at papa’s freezeria.

Assignment #1 - Ellis Padgett - Early Onset Senioritis

Hi everyone, I'm Ellis!
Most of the time I am very tired and stressed, so this year I am trying my best to simply enjoy the high school experience- the football games, the late nights, the strange smells.  Everything.  I know this hasn't been high school musical so far (and it never will be), but I really do feel like we're all in this together.
My above all passion is, as many know, music.  There is a really wide range of music I enjoy, but I tend to stray towards indie styles.  Death Cab for Cutie will forever be my favorite band!  I play guitar, violin, and piano, and one of my biggest personal high school achievements has been getting into chamber orchestra.  The dream job (right now) would be to compose music for films.  That's another thing I love: film.  I have found it really hard to take on film as another extracurricular, and regret not being able to take it as a class.  I  have messed around with writing screenplays, working the camera, writing the music; but I've never been able to look back at my work and say that I am overwhelmingly pleased.  My hope is that before college I will get to finally create one that I'm proud of!
Other things that take up my time are theater, bands I join and then quit, and my two chihuahuas Harriet and Sir Rocky Raccoon (but mainly Harriet).  I spend a lot of time taking care of Harriet, as she has so many medical issues.  Rocky has issues, too, but I can't talk about those.
The most meaningful part of my summer, and in all honesty my life, was when I spent three weeks in France as an exchange student.  I remember looking around the beach at the very end of the trip, seeing all the new friends I had made and feeling the independence I'd gained, and just knowing that whatever happens in high school, everything will turn out all right.
Laughter is the best medicine- I can't wait to employ it as we all battle early onset senioritis!

This is a picture from Rouen, France, at a big festival called "L'Armada".  It entailed about 50 ship- recreated from medieval to modern times- on the Seine, reenacting their voyages. It was about 1 AM, and a concert for the artist Dadju had just finished.  Fireworks were then launched, and the crowd sang the French national anthem.  In the picture (taken on my lovely Android), you can see ship masts, fireworks, a full moon; and the best part, french people.
I can't say I know a lot of websites, but I definitely visit this page a lot:

Assignment #1 - Irene Kim - Greetings

Hello, I'm Irene!

Currently, I'm lying inside a seven-foot tent in my living room, typing this up while watching a video for calculus and eating dinner. I'm in a bit of a time crunch--I have a camping trip tomorrow and a ton of work to get done by then. You gotta do what you gotta do.

For this school year, my only goals are to relax and try not to stress so much. My first two years of high school were a bit stressful, juggling AP classes, piano lessons, and Korean school, plus cornell notes on top of everything. This year, my parents and I decided to focus on just enjoying my time at school--of course, while maintaining acceptable grades. :) I'm trying to put myself more out there, which is easy to say behind a screen but not so much in person.

This summer was mainly devoted to traveling. Towards the end of sophomore year, my grandpa came to visit us from South Korea--which of course meant rearranging our furniture, changing our meal plan, and my mom pulling her hair out for about a month. (But we love him.) Right after his departure, we visited Gatlinburg for a couple days to hike up a small trail in the Smoky Mountains. We then planned a last-minute visit to Chicago for three days, where we did some sightseeing. The last outing of the summer came the week before school started--a five-day trip to Toronto. I was mainly excited to visit the hometown of Joana Ceddia, one of my favorite YouTubers. Although we didn't get to that particular outing, I loved seeing the Niagara Falls and visiting the butterfly conservatory.

As for superpowers, I'm not entirely sure. I was a major Harry Potter fan growing up, so I'd probably choose an Invisibility Cloak if I had the option. But flying sounds pretty nice, too. What geeks me out--a lot of things do, but I'd probably have to go with 70s music. (Or anything within the 60s-80s range.) I love listening to The Beatles, Queen, ABBA, and Elton John. This is getting long, so I'll stop here.
